Well, we wish we could update you more on our friend's situation, but I'm afraid that even now, a week later, we still haven't been able to contact them. We've heard positive reports, but most people aren't quite sure what is going on. What we are both excited about is the response we have received so far from last week's post. Whether by e-mail, blog comments, or otherwise we appreciate all of you who have demonstrated your support for our friends through intercession and can't wait to be able to tell them about it. As we said before, the day we know something, which from what we hear should be this week, we promise we will post a quick blog with more details. As for our daily lives, this week has been fun and painless - but it did provide us with some fun pictures that we wanted to share with you. Tiff taught her lessons on clothes this week, something that all the kids enjoy to learn especially when they find out what they get to do at the end of the week. Tiff's idea, and I think it's absolutely wonderful as a teaching tool, was to take a whole bunch of clothes to school to use as a hands-on learning for the kids. As a final game the kids would be able to dress up in the clothes as some sort of race within the class. Of course using Tiff's small clothes wouldn't have been quite as funny as using the clothes worn by her giant-of-a-husband, so I loaned two pairs of pants, shorts, shirts, and sweaters for tons of little Chinese kids to play in. The result? Quite a few good pictures, but these two are my favorite. The first is obviously
Tiff giving a demonstration to the kids in my clothes and the second is one of her pre-k students laughing her head off wearing my sweater.
Tomorrow we're going to head off to a small town south of us for a short day trip. We'll be meeting up with a fellow English teacher who stayed at our apartment a month ago and I, Josh, will be spending some time with a few of the guys I played basketball with last year continuing to build a relationship. We're both looking forward to some good reading and talking time in the bus as well as time spent with friends. We're just a week and a half away from Thanksgiving where we'll again take a short trip and probably slaughter another "wish-it-were-a-turkey" chicken. Hope your weekend (or week) has been good and we both look forward to being able to send a post to you detailing what has happened with our friends. Until then...
